an experienced elapid keeper, rate the following snakes on the general risk of being bitten during the process of moving the snake from one container to another while having a hook and tongs (In other words, being in the same room with an average, adult, unconfined snake):
PNG Taipan
Forest Cobra
Cape Cobra
Black Mamba
Coastal Taipan
King Cobra
Eastern Green Mamba
Having had several Asian cobras and a pair of capes, I'd rate them from worst to least as:
Black Mamba (BM) The most dangerous in this situation due to speed, agressiveness, venom, and delivery as the #1. most dangerous.
