Hey all,

Just wanted to share and pose an interesting question to all who've had sibling sisters from the same litter give birth nearly on the same day.

First, on Friday, I came home from my internship to find a nice healthy litter from my big 7' 1999 Normal female bred by my 2001 Het Anery male from Basically Boas. 26 babies in all and 4 slugs, as can be seen in the pic below. Nothing "crazy" in the litter, just a nice healthy bunch of lil guys and gals. Some do have some interesting coloration to them, with some pink trying to come thru from the usual gray coloration of baby boas. Still, I'm simply psyched that I had another healthy litter over here.

The cool thing is that this big gal's sister who is about the same size if not bigger had her litter the next day on Saturday. This big gal was bred by my 2000 hypo male who fathered my very first successful litter back in 2004. Again, nothing in the litter that will turn the boa world on his heels, but I am very happy to have another healthy litter born here. Total from this bunch was 30 babies, with the usual 1/2 normal and 1/2 hypo breakdown, and 1 slug.

Anyone else ever have sisters give birth so close together. They had their Post Ov Sheds a day apart as well so they were due pretty much on the same day. A good reptile friend of mine said that reproductive behavior is genetic, meaning that siblings from the same litter will more or less breed, ovulate, and give birth around the same time. Any truth or supportive evidence to this theory from any of you all? Just wondering.

I'll post a pic of some favs from the Het Anery x Normal litter and a pic of the Hypo x Normal litter as well.

Thanks for looking and hope everyone is having a wonderful season.

Jay
