Stav,
That is INCREDIBLE. Actually, it isn't FOR Sure known if the two genes are compatible because there has been very little documentations of breedings with the two genes. Very few people have done it, and nobody has given the results other then 1 other person that I know, and that is Bill Kirby. He did something similar with an animal I sent him on breeder loan, and he seemed to prove the genes were Compatible. (Type 1 and 2 Anerythrisitcs). Now you have done it for sure, and it looks like they are for SURE Compatible. Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if there are a few different Type 2 genes. I know I have several different Type 2 genes from different Locations from all over Central American and Mexico. I haven't bred them together to find out, but I hope to do some breedings in the next few years to help answer many questions I have.
You can see in your breeding they are CLEARLY Anerythristics in your litter. You can also see your female is a Central Type 2 Anerythristic, and the Columbian is represented Well in your litter. You can also see the Type 1 or Columbian Anery is influenced in your litter. I have noticed in MANY breedings from CA to Columbian, that the Columbian has a stronger representation then the CA does. When doing 50 percent to 50 percent, most the babies resemble Columbians more then they do the CA.
You are right about the litter being sired by a Multiple Males. That is a strong possiblity in your litter. I have done this 3 different times with Boas, and 1 time with Balls, and so it definatly can happen.
This is very informative Stav, and quite a nice breakthrough. It looks like it is pretty conclusive that the genes are compatible. I wonder if ALL type 2's are. I don't see why not, but you never know. Thank you very much for sharing your breedings here in the Forum. Awesome information. Any other thoughts? I look forward to seeing others repsonses or opinions.
