LEO behavior question

i have a pretty young leo, a few months old. I am just wondering how long it will take for him to stop being afraid of me. I know he'll never "like" me, but he still gets jumpy when i come over to his cage. And when is he going to realize there's gravity in the world and he shouldn't try to jump out of my hand when i pick him up. I have had him for about 6 or 7 weeks. Thanks for any help
