I don't think this helps us no. It is good to see someone trying to raise awareness and to stop people from buying baby animals they won't be able to handle as they grow, but it could of been done and phrased in a different way I think.
Yes they can be dangerous for an inexperienced person, which seems to be part of their point, but if cared for properly by an experienced herper they can be great pets.
The detailing of the snakes upset attitude, hissing, opening it's mouth enough to swallow a poodle.... that does hurt our hobby. (I can see people freaking out when they see a garter snake in the grass because their afraid it will eat their little pooch...) Of COURSE the snake was upset, I would be too if a bunch of strangers held me down against my will and I didn't understand why... If it was me I would have done ALOT more than hiss, I would have bit, broken bones and done alot of damage to some I perceived to be attacking me... lol.
Sorry, I'm getting away with myself. IMO I think press like that hurts more than it helps. ----- 1.0 Dumeril's Boa
0.0.1 Crested Gecko
...Not that the list will end there, got my sites set on a few others... snakes and other reptiles are highly addictive.
