Bulge between rear legs

So we got talked into watching a friends gecko for a month. We've only had it two days, and noticed that there is a large brown mass between its two rear legs. The mass is definitely external. It almost looks like a wad of brown chewing gum is stuck there. It also hasn't eaten any of its crickets since they brought it over. Is there anything to be concerned about?

The owners can't be reached or else I'd be calling them.
