When to start rats

I have a baby bp and an adult bp. the adult wont eat rats. matter of fact, she wont eat mice either. she will only eat gerbils. anyway, my baby is only a few months old, but i was wondering at what size i could start it on rat pups so that it gets used to the taste/smell of rats?
