I've noticed the same thing. My female has gotten lighter and my male has darkened. I haven't been able to find anything about it. How many are you feeding him and what size? My male is three feet and he normally eats one medium rat once a month. Last week he ate a small large. Some could eat more, and some could eat less, though I wouldn't recommend it. I wish mine would eat every two to three weeks but he won't. The past four months it's been one month to the day.
