Hi,
How you doin Bonnie ?
For Anole16,
I've kept Japalura Splendida in the past, never had much luck with them.
My advice (in hindsight) would be to find something other than a glass tank to keep them in. A screen cage would probably be better suited - I'm kind of sick of the cloth Reptariums I've been using. They aren't rigid enough and the darn crickets eat holes straight through the screen. I've picked up a few new cages that are a metal screen with a rigid aluminum frame, I like them a lot better but theres a few problems with them, mainly that they're hard to clean out but mostly because they cost $70 .
Ideal environment for them IMO would be the aluminum screen cage, a small UVB flourescent bulb, a medium wattage bulb with a basking area around 85 degrees for at least a few hours each day. Vertical and horizontal branches to perch on and plenty of live plants or artificial ones.
I would also consider a *moving* water feature as a basic neccesity. A waterfall would be ideal, or at least a bowl with an air bubbler.
All in all, I'd figure a budget of maybe $150 for an ideal environment.
Also, TREAT THEM FOR PARASITES if you want them to be around for long !
Best of luck
