Try using food. Feed it at the opening of its hide. If it does not come out, then leave the food there. Then a little farther out. Then as it learns where the food comes from. Place one hand flat on the ground and allow it to eat out of your hand, then work up your arm. Then lift it a little, then touch it while its eating, not on the head, etc. Do this repeatedly and slowly. Remember, your keeping the monitor for years and years. So no hurry. Pretty soon, it will sit on your head and feed or look around etc. Your bond was thru trust and service. You are feeding it as a reward. Also remember use small food items and make them repeat the actions. Cheers
