First off congrats on deciding to keep ball pythons. Pastel's are some of the prettiest ball pythons and at a cost where almost anyone can afford. As far as the lines go mixing the lines will give you a super pastel. The pastel gene works as a co-dominant trait. A pastel bred to a normal would give you in theory a 50/50 split of normals and pastels. A pastel bred to another pastel would in theory give you 25% supers, 25% normals and 50% pastels. Any crossing of the lines is ok but some people prefer how each line looks and some people don't care. Hope this helps you some. ----- Josh Hutto
