But he came back.

I've been meaning to post this but haven't had the time. In the first 2 weeks of June we had extremely high temps for this time of year. Every day for 2 weeks it was either more than 100 degrees or very near to 100.

That's when Hobo vanished, I did not see him for 3 full weeks and I got so worried about him I began to wonder if some kid had hopped over the fence & stolen him.

In the back of my mind I also thought that with these odd for this time of year high temps maybe he's underground waiting it out.

Finally on June 22 it began to rain in the evening, I went outside with an umbrella searching all over for him I just knew the rain would make him come out.. but it didn't. I was really worried then.

We left the next morning to get the puppy before the sun came up, it was still raining so I still didn't see Hobo. Then Sat. the 24th I finally spotted him, he was out by the gate so I ran to see if he wanted food. He did.

Then I didn't see him again for another week. Now I know he's been living under the storage building and it looks like it's true that high temps are why he vanished.

The wild boy knows what he's doing when it's too hot or too cold. Hobo is the first one I've had live outside 24/7/365 so this has been really interesting for me to watch him.

Unfortunately, the old storage building he's living under is actually an eyesore that's literally falling apart piece by piece. The new one we got yesterday is outside the fence & is staying out there. Hobo's is about to be torn down, he's not going to be happy about that. He'll find another place to use though, I'll make sure he does.

I wonder if my girls will eventually be able to live outdoors 24/7/365 like Hobo does once we get that pen built?

Hope so!
