We took out the female pastel and a few young normals yesterday evening to get some pics in the subdued light. This often creates some of my favorite pictures. These didn't turn out perfectly, but they're still quite nice. Enjoy.

This girl is possibly a pastel sib and it looks like she thought about inheriting her potential father's traits...but the real deal had to show her up.

The more and more I work with these snakes, the more I think to myself, "What the crap have I been doing the past 5 years working with other snakes?!" Compared to the other herps I've been keeping, these guys are a dream to handle, clean, and maintain. I have to admit, I used to be one of those mumblers that complained about the "crazy prices" of some ball pythons and the "crazy people" who sold them, but now I totally understand. In the end, I think it turned out to possibly be jealously on my part. I didn't have the spare funds to buy some of these insane looking snakes and begrudged them for that. I'm not saying all the negative view toward the ball market is because of that, but I'm betting a lot is.
So yeah, I guess you could say, and put it *very* mildly, that I've caught the ball bug. I'm even sacrificing the rest of my reptillian collection for at least the next several years, maybe longer, until I've built up the colony I want...not to mention paid off some debt.
Anyway, just thought I'd post. Thanks for reading. ----- Chance Duncan www.rivervalleyexotics.com
