A rambling reply...



I would chalk it up to individual variation, which is of course genetic. You can have a hugely differing variation within an individual litter. This includes the color differences you have seen. You get those freaks like the super light one you have and you keep it because you can't possibly sell it correct? And you make more. The same goes for the really colorful one from the year before. You have to keep those and make more using another animal that shares as many of those same characteristics as possible. That is what I would do. Here are some pictures of Hypos all from the same litter too. These were all around 3.5' when I took these pictures. The washed out look in the first two was even greater when they were smaller like your babies. But they have changed some over time. Here are the pictures:

All from the same litter. A really nice Doug Matuzack produced Hypo male that bred my huge "TJ" Pastel female. This kind of variation may be especially true when using a Pastel as one of the parents. Of course this does not have to be the case as none of your Boas genes, or my Boas genes for that matter, give a rip about what I think. I kept the two washed out animals at the top by the way. I do practice what I preach. They are living comfortably here at the "Boa Black Hole". Keep them, feed them and in a few years breed them.
