I personally have not had much luck with excapees in my house, but its a log home, and I have 2 cats

Try 2 litre pop bottles. Add a little water and set them around on their sides. You can also prop 1 end up 1/4" to get the water to one end.

Or cut the top of the 2 liter bottle off, reverse it so it is a funnel. Add a tiny bit of water, and prop up the front end so the water does not drain out. This method makes it tougher for the snake to get out.

On larger snakes most people use milk jugs with 1/2" of water.
