What a cool deal. After all these years & God only know how many litters of boas, I finally was able to catch a female giving birth from start to finish. I knew this Bolivian girl was going to drop today so I decided what the heck, I'll stay at home & check on her religiously every 15 minutes. Finally at 3:35 P.M. I went up to take a peek & what do you know, she was just pushing out the first couple babies. So I went & grabbed the camera. I never got any really killer pics but I'm pretty happy with what I did get. She certainly proved what I knew all along. Good healthy litters don't take much time at all. It was 18 minutes start to finish with a couple slugs & around 30 babies. This girl always has perfect litters & she is the mother of the other 2 girls that produced for me this year. She's 10 years old now & this is her 4th litter. I'm betting she is probably good for 3 or 4 more down the road with next year off.
