And that is to breed the animal to known homozygous for anery A animals several times. Then, if you ever get even one non-anery A offspring, you could prove that your blizzard was heterozygous for the gene.

If you never did get such an offspring, the chances would be almost certain that your blizzard is also homozygous for anery A. You can probably already know that fairly certainly, depending upon your clutch size (if you had 32 snow babies, for instance...it's nearly certainly so), but there's still that "1001 heads" issue.
