The main question is what is controlling the look of not only the supers, but the motleys as well. I'll have to take some pics of the motleys, they look very Colombian....which is fine by me! A friend of yours e-mailed me about the two lines being compatable, which I honestly can't say if they are or not. I don't think anyone has done CA Motley x Col. Motley. to find out, and really don't see a point in that right now. I'll try to keep this short, but here's what creates the questions. As you know our original animals are 50% CA from an EBV male to the CA Female motley. The 75% CA animals we produced along with the Burkes turned out great, and when compared to Pete's(I think you have a part in them too) 100% CA motleys, they look like they could be littermates. Well, this year I produce some more 75% CA motleys and they don't look like any of them. Now the litter with the Supers being 50% CA and 50% Col. have a small CA look, but from what I've seen, a HUGE COL. motley look. I think I have enough pics in my photogallery here to show the comparisons briefly. Now, the supers not being black....does the locale play the biggest part in the color, or is there just a degree of variation we haven't been able to see yet with so few produced. I would lean that way a bit, but Pete's latest CA Supers came out black, and there's really no variation among those I've looked at pics of(have not seen any of the Blacks in person). Then I'd venture locale is a huge part, and the combo creates what we got, but I thought that after seeing Lindas supers. Well, that was until she said they were siblings(or somehow closely related) to your Purple supers. Last I heard from Linda I think she said hers have some speckling, and these do as well. Have you seen this in your supers? In the end, I'm just asking in fun as the results have been great regardless, and I seriously can not wait to see what's in store next. I really do wonder what affect the various supers will have when combined with other morphs. Anyhow, here's some pics, look forward to your thoughts along with anyone elses on the topic. Take care [ Hide Replies ]
