>>Can't believe someone would let a RES "go free" on the beach! Some people are such total idiots.

Kasie,
I have a friend who's the curator of a small zoo, they find RES all the time dumped on the grounds of the zoo.
Our sulcata was dumped out in the countryside, found by a rancher. I met a woman last year who found an 8 inch sulcata on a highway on her way home.. my vet has that one today.
I know some people who have box turtles in their backyard, they also have a small pond that they built because they wanted to have it to look at & to grow plants in. They had no intentions of keeping animals in the pond but one day they found a red eared slider in the pond. Someone apparently put it there when they weren't looking.
It really is unreal what people will do.

I'm so glad though that this one found a home! Good for you for taking it in.
Keep us updated on him/her now & then.
