The short version is it seems to work pretty well as long as you only need 1 or 2 mice now and then.

Personally I use a 16 quart cooler from Wally World. It cost $6 more than this doohicky, but I can fill it with hot tap water (not oht enough to cook) and let it thaw out a pile of mice or rats while I clean cages. I have to change the water once to get enough heat if I'm doing a bunch of rats. Most snakes don't seem to mind the mice/rats being wet, and some seem to prefer it after a while.
