Posted by: MikeinOKC at Fri Jul 14 13:20:22 2006 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by MikeinOKC ] I have found something that works as a great hide, and can be sized to fit the individual snake: Get a plain brown garden pot and crack off one side leaving a cave-like opening, with the bottom intact. Place it bottom-up in the cage. The snake can easily crawl in and curl up, leaving an opening on one side and the back half or two-third closed and flush to the bottom. Snake can also go in or out through the top, using the small round drainage hole. My black rat will curl up inside and poke his head out the top hole an inch or two to look arounf, then easily withdraw for a feeling of safety. The rough edge when you break away the entrance is also great to start shedding, and there are no sanitary problems -- the pot is easily washed and dries quickly. [ Hide Replies ]
