i dont think you could go wrong with a ball.they are quite easy to take care of and for the most part quite calm.only thing i suggest is to get a good book on them before purchasing and purchase from a reputable pet shop or bp breeder.suggested books are: The Complete Ball Python by kevin McCurley or one of tracy and david barkers books. good luck
