we had a RTB come to us a while back- he was still in quarantine so im not worried about him passing anything to the others but im not really sure what happened to him. we had him tested for several things like salmonella, parasites, etc... when we got him. He was a bit of a stubborn eater. he hadnt eaten in probably 2-3 months which shouldnt have been the issue. a few days ago I saw him and he was just fine, about 4 hours later, i went back in the quarantine room and he was dead and stiff as a board and what i thought was odd was that he had bit himself about as close to his head as he could get. he had urinated 3 days in a row prior to death and i had a vet appt. this week to see what that was about. we decided not to get a necropsy and spend the 150 on the other-living- animals we have. im just wondering if someone else has experienced this and could tell me what you think happened. but like i said i'm not worried about anything like IBD or URI spreading to the other snakes. when we first got him he was tested for URI and didnt have one then and didnt have any signs before he died.... he was a very healthy snake. about 7 ft and pretty muscular... i just thought the way he died was strange, ive lost a few snakes but never like that.... any help would be appriciated-
Beth
