One of my recent acquisitions showed up with mites. Didn't see them on initial inspection. Luckily was contained to the quarantine room. Upon further inspection I found travellers a few slots away in the rack from ground zero so they were already spreading...UGH!!! All totalled, I only saw a half dozen mites so it was by no means a "infestation" yet. I had been bringing in several animals and was half expecting to get mites so I had already bought a can of provent-a-mite. I used it one time on all the quarantine room cages. It worked great, have not seen one more mite since the initial couple of days.
I have heard they can travel on you, been to another herp area, store, friend, messed with a wild snake etc.? Also that they could come in on live feeder from a pet store etc.? Maybe you had all along and just took a while to see?
>>Don't know where they came from...just popped out of nowhere...haven't brought in a new snake for months,,,the last one i kept in quarantine and all was fine...any ideas how this could have happened??
>>And what should I do to get rid of them..

>>Thanks for any advice. ----- Thanks,
