I am currently using heat lamps in the front of the rack when it gets cooler and room temps of my pet room. When the reptile show comes to my area in September, I am going to put flex watt on the inside back, and heat it that way, which is how the one that I bought is heated. It seems to work. The shelves on the one that I built are remove-able and adjustable, so adding flex watt with a temp gauge will be easy.
