I have also learned the hard and expencive way to buy from reputable breeders....



my first story is when I was getting out of burms and retics I was looking to get some het albinos and I found one guy selling a bunch of possible hets....I bought a 50% het albino and the guy shipped it US Mail in an evelope! I called him immediatly because the snake weighed 30~grams and had a whole shed stuck and was just plain terrible....He offered to send another at no cost and didn't seem worried about it and said that it was healthy when it left him!!!She was shipped in a box that was 1x1x10 and no insulation in the middle of summer...I live in southern GA where it is usually 95 and up....she live and we call her our 50% het normal....she may go this year but next year for sure...



Second story is when I went to the Daytona show I purchase a large "female" ball python from a soposid reputible breeder/seller and he said 250 for a 1800gram feamle and I couldn't pass it up.....I didn't sex it for over a year and it was acculy a male that I sold for 25 dollars to a wholesaler I know



I now have delt with many reputible breeders and by far the best person has been Jon @ Next World Exotics... He is great to work with and an immaculate collection and record keeping that is far better than I could ever seem to do (until I wanted to have records like his)



I hope that this never happens to me agian....it has happened numerous times since I got into balls but it never happened in any other markets that I have been involved in I hope that honesty prevals and it doesn't happen often....but hope is usually for dreamers and fools...
