Nortmal blizzards have really dark blue eyes that almost look blue, as far as I can tell.
Lately there have been a few genes pop up that only affect the eyes. And one that affects the eyes and the body.
RAPTOR- Albino gene that only affects eyes, making them bright ruby red. Found by Ron Tremper.
Eclipse-Gene that causes eyes to be solid black. Appears to be recessive. Believed to be the non-albino form of the RAPTOR gene. Found by Ron Tremper.
MACK SNOWS- Co-dom gene that has a het form (mack snow) with normal eyes but a faded jungle pattern, and a homozygous super form (Mack Super Snow) which has solid black eyes, and no color but black and white. The spots also line up into rows down the body. No color creeps in with age like line bred snows. Found by Reptiles By Mack (John and Amy Mack I think ?)
SNAKE EYES- Recessive gene found by Ron Tremper that causes half of the eye to be solid black, and half to be normal.
Breeders are trying to figure out how these genes will work with other morphs. They are trying to out breed them as much as possible to see if they can make a name for themselves by creating a new combination before anyone else. See the post above about the new "Frosted" morph. VERY EXCITING STUFF!!! ----- Leopard Geckos 1.3 Bull Frog 1.0 Bearded Dragon 1.0
