multiple geckos in cage

I'm a first timer with Leopard geckos (got my gf one for her bday) and I would also like to get one. I would like to keep them in the same cage, and I know that 2 males aren't supposed to be kept in the same cage, but does this rule also apply to females? Would it be OK to keep 2 females in the same cage together?
