Dan,
. Your cage temperature may be a problem. If all of the cage is 80 to 85 it is too hot. If the cage gets a few degrees warmer than that the snake will get cooked. If some of the cage is in the low 80s and some is down to the low to mid 70s that would be best. That way the snake can move to whatever area of the cage has the temperature that it needs. This past winter I had about 25 little BRBs here and I actually let their cage temperatures drop right along with the adults I was cooling to breed. The little ones ate every week and did great with temps from the mid 60s to the low 70s. While yours is little it is fine to feed it one or two times a week. You should feed it enough so that it grows an inch or two every month.
