My apologies to everyone, my son e-mailed me again and said that the golden baby corn has no yellow in it, but did say that it has a nice light grayish color. I don't know what to think except to wait til I get some pics. WOW, that really took the wind out of my sails! And I'm sure most of you were anticipating the same thing I was. My sincere apologies. This was no trick or joke on anyone (I have NO reason for this), as I was also fooled. I'm overseas (in this middle east desert), and had no way of telling for sure, except the exciting e-mail I received from my son.

He just e-mailed me again and said that the some of the golden chips of vermiculite made it appear as if though it had some yellow coloring in its' blotches. SO far, I have one hatchling and three more that should be hatching out any time now. So there is still hope, (if the breeding between mother and son occured). One baby was fully formed and consumed by maggots. I guess my son didn't notice the slugs in the clutch and maybe some of the maggots eventually spread over to one of the good eggs. But I do have last years babies which are ALL near breeding size as I am typing this. So at least by next summer I should have some golden corns, if these remaining three eggs don't turn out golden blotched.

Once again, sorry for the mistake. Too bad I wasn't home, and maybe got a little excited myself when I received the first e-mail from my son. Next time I'll be home AND I won't post nothing untl I have pics!!! Only hoping you can understand an honest mistake was made (and a lesson learned)! But nevertheless: Golden corns ARE still on the way - (just might have to wait a little longer) THANK YOU ALL, and I will keep you posted,

Zee
