boa or ball

Cant decide on which to get. I currently have a 20 gallon long tank set up and plan on getting a baby ball or boa. I can upgrade to a larger cage easily for when they grow up, so space isnt a problem. How long will it take for the boa to exceed 5 feet? I will eventually breed.
