Hi there. I'm mainly a kingsnake guy, but enjoy seeing other species as well. just want to shar a sighting of a somewhat uncommon animal here. I'm currently in Kuwait and one of my co-workers found a sand boa outside of our building taking a drink out of a puddle of water (yes water does not exist here this time of year, unless man puts it there). For those that are interested and keep these animals, I can tell you that they sure can tolerate a lot of heat. Of course the sun had set about 90 minutes earlier. It was nighttime and aprox 8:30pm here and the temperature was 105 degrees at the time this snake was found. The daily average high here is 120 and about 95 at night. This IS a HOT place. NOTHING moves durng the day. Even the people here close their stores from 1:30pm until 5pm because of the intense heat EVERY day in the summer. I did not think I would see a snake until the fall season (around Oct/Nov). Average rainfall here: (near 0 inches from April-Nov)
Now, I have one question: What type of sand boa sub species occurs here in Kuwait?
Thanks,

Zee
