The first number represents the number of males within a given group, while the second number indicates the number of females. When using the formula, there should be a third number indicating the number of unsexed specimens within a group.

Example: 1.1.0 = one male, one female and zero undetermined sex.

Example: 0.2.1 = zero males, two females and one of undetermined sex.

Eaample: 3.2.4 = three males, two females and four of undetermined sex.

In actuality, all three fields should be expressed, not simply 1.1 or 0.1, as such should actually be 1.1.0 and 0.1.0 respectively...

Best regards,

Jeff
