Of course we don't mind if you ask questions! That's what this place is for .

I will echo the other post about Petco/Petsmart, etc...I had the misfortune of thinking it'd be ok to get geckos at Petsmart once. They had parasites that didn't really show up as a problem for about a month or two, and by the time I (as an at the time inexperienced keeper) noticed the problem and brought them to a vet, it was too late. I refuse to buy from them ever. I've since gotten 2 geckos from a little hole in the wall pet store that I found that seems to take much better care of their animals and must get them from better suppliers, because I've had no problems there. It definitely pays to find either a breeder you like or a store like that, rather than going to a big chain.

The coloration changes, but a normal won't turn into a super hypo carrottail or anything goofy like that. Typically they go from being striped as babies to being spotted as adults. As far as overall coloration type, no, they won't change.

Mine certainly seems to recognize us - presuming she's awake, she'll usually come toward us and interact through the glass. She definitely knows who brings the crickets, at the very least.
