bleach everthing! except the snake! 10 parts water 1 part bleach. there are more pricey cleaners available, but whatever. if you have multiple tanks(cages), clean all of them, mites spread easily. clean water bowls hide boxes, and get rid of old substate. start over from scratch. i prefer to hose my tanks off outside, with a garden hose to make sure all the bleach is gone. wipe them fairly dry, hose down again, then wipe completely dry. while you're doing your hosing and cleaning, give your snake a bath(mites hate water, they will jump off your snake). my first ball i ever got had mites. i used this method, and have'nt had mites since. hope this helps, nate.
