>>I know that treated lumber can't be used to make a cage, but would it be a problem to use it as shelving for the cages? I have some 4' vision cages, as well as some aquariums I would like to used for display. I was initially going to go with the metal utility type shelves they sell at lowes. I have a lot of treated lumber I didn't use for a pergola and thought that would be even better, as I could customize it. I would probably paint it as well. I wasn't sure if treated off gassed or something.
