I believe you are referring to the small plastic covers that go over your flexwatt connections. Boaphile cages that come with preinstalled heat do not use the covers. They stack nice and even, no tilting or leaning.

If you are going to install your own flexwatt and use the small covers, I would recommend that you make your tape a little longer and hang the tag end with the covers out the back or side. If you try to stack cages on top of the covers they will not stack level.
