Welllllll, after a breeding female puts so much energy into a litter Steve and I like to be able to give that female a year off to recover, BUT we know that sometimes thats just not an option. For a 6-7 foot female I would feed her 2-3 Retired breeder rats every 7 days. I would feed her a normal size meal every 7 days to try and get her up to weight. In the end it becomes more important that she is up to weight when we we go to breed and let me say sometimes its just not an option. We always try to do what is best for the females. And that is my solid advice to you. Feed normal sized meals and try to get her up to weight but if it doesnt happen then you need to be able to know that it wasnt meant to be and don't push your female to hard. Good luck with your female and good luck this next season!

Sincerely,
Rose Aguilar

PS Hope that helps!
