Your absolutely correct. Savs would take a far larger cage. Consider, in order to have the same amount of space and depth, you would need a cage many times larger.

Also, Savs do not do well with Retes boards, they rub their backbone on them and cause some skin scaring. They are not much of a crevice dweller.
