Breeding season can begin whenever you as the breeder choose it to. Most start in Oct, pairing in Nov and up until Feb - April. As long as they are healthy they should breed, a male should be no less than 500g to breed, I don't think a larger male will be less successful quite the opposite, obesity of course isn't healthy for anyone or anything. ----- Nita Hamilton
