He was born last July, so he isn't big enough for rats yet. I fed him live because I didn't know better, and the breeder I got him from recommended it. I now feed him prekilled meals, although I am not totally opposed to live feeding as long as it is a mouse (rats and gerbils are smart and bite like crazy if possible) and is small enough. Although people here will tell me I am stupid for doing this, I'll occasionally feed my snake a live hopper, which is really easy for him to kill (he is eating jumbo adults regularly). The first time I fed him I dropped the live mouse in there, and he attacked and killed it in about two seconds. Hope this helps. | ||
