I received a boa with mites a while back. Didn't see them at first but found them a day or so later. By then one had already migrated two slots away. Was in my quarantine room thank goodness!
I already had a can of provent-a-mite on hand just in case. I had been bringing in a lot of new babies. After I found the mites, I treated all rack tubs and cages that had snakes in them. Emptied the cage/tub, sprayed the cage/tub per instructions and allowed them to fully dry. Then used new bedding (white paper towels) and a freshly cleaned water bowl. Prior to treating, I only saw and killed three, I only treated the cages/tubs once. After treating, I did find a couple of dead ones but never saw another live one. Obviously I caught it early. ----- Thanks,
Dave Colling
