Also, most boas get darker when they are going into a shed phase. Make sure to increase humidity a bit if you think your snake is going to shed - they get darker, then the eyes get cloudy, then the eyes clear up, and a few days later, they will be ready to shed.

Some boas like Hog Islands get paler at night and darker during the day. Some boas just get darker occasionally... mood snakes? Boas tend to look best/brightest right after a good shed.
