Pretty, pretty--I have a yellow male that I love. Yellows are underappreciated. It is a naturally occuring color phase for this species. Yet, I see yellow babies overlooked in favor of the brightest orange or other bred-for morphs.

When bred to one of my orange females, some of the babies are orange, while some are yellow with orangy undertones. When bred to my other orange female, bright orange babies are produced who retain their color into adulthood.

I guess a lot has to do with what is popular in the hobby. Thank you for sharing the photo of your yellow one--does one's heart good!

rgds,
althea
