I just recently introduced a pair of columbians. They are at the very least courting. They stay locked up, but I haven't been able to see if there has been actual penetration. I've never bred these before. If they were Kenyans I KNOW there would be babies soon. However, I've read that boas can court and lock up for months before actual breeding takes place.
How long should I leave them together before I introduce the male to a different female. What is the chances of actually producing offspring?
JFYI, the male is a 100% double het for snow. Female is a normal. Male is a slim 4.5-5 ft in length. Female is 6.5-7 feet in length. She isn't slim, but isn't overweight either. I estimate around 15-25 lbs. I've never weighed her. Neither have been "pushed". I'll have to look at my documents, but I believe the male is 3-4 years old. The female is 4-5 at least. ----- Travis Rose
