Actually, Daddy Platty( Ummm... Gaa Gaa Goo Goo) exhibits the "hidden" gene and all of his kids should carry it in some form.... they may even show it but it may be so subtle we don't see it. It could be simple recessive or incomplete dominant...blah blah..
These offspring of the Platty carry it in theory....their offspring are 50% poss gene carriers if this is how it works. The problem is why is it linked to the mutation itself.....if it was another gene it would exhibit intself as an odd normal or something to that effect. I don't know the answer or if it is linked to the mutation and will only show itself when linked.... we know that "normal" littermates may carry this hidden gene that make platties when bred back to a known gene carrier. It is weird stuff to say the least.
The Woma Tiger seems to do the same thing...... there is quite a bit of mystery to that one!
All I know is that I can make all sorts of cool stuff with those two mutations and their hidden gene reaction. Now I am adding other mutations on top to see how retarded I can make things get.
Just need a bit of time.
