The best, safest and most accurate way to sex baby boas is to hold their tails upside down and between your thumb and forefinger (thumb along the ventral surface) and gently run the tail down between your fingers while applying a little bit of pressure, from the vent backward toward the tail tip. If it's a male, you will feel two small "bb's" (the hemipenes) a little bit down from the vent. They will kind of roll around under your thumb. It's really pretty obvious once you feel the hemipenes once. If it's a female, you will feel nothing. This doesn't work with older boas but has proven 100% accurate for with boas up to a few months old.
