Regarding Color changes

I have a question for all you well informed folks. I have two dragons and I've noticed some things that are kinda counter intutive about their colors. My boy has a tendancy to get very dark in the sunlight, or during the day, but at night time he turns bright orange . My girl on the other hand stays medium orange thoughtout the day with some dark side bars buts gets really golden orange at night, or in the sun light. My temps are all good...and I use a 100 watt Mega Ray UV bulb for both as well as a 12 inch fluorescent reptisun on the cooler side of the tank. At night I use red bulbs to keep it comfortable and they both sleep like logs. So I can;t figure out how to keep and maintain the best colors in my children. I do notice that the female gets fired up when she's been handled for a while...but the the boy..he stays a dark orange/brown color most of the time and doesn;t color up till night or after he's sat on my lap for a bit. Any thoughts?



P.S. First pick is of my girl at night before bed time, and the second is both of them after a bath..I'll try and get one of my boy in his oranged out phase tonight.
