If you have the space & resources, go with more than one animal. Don't put your eggs all in "one basket," so to speak. Regardless of whether it's co-dom/dom animals or hets from a really b!tc#in recessive project (or maybe even a little of both), try to diversify as much as possible within your current means, especially when you take into consideration the projects that you like the most.
I don't know what your background/experience level is with ball pythons, but personally I'd be hesitant to stake anything on just one animal. Why tempt fate? If you've bred snakes before & you're confident in your experience, then do whatever suits you. If you're not totally sure, then consider more than one critter & have fun making combos in the future.
Then again, I'm into blood pythons, so take this all with a grain of salt. Just my perspective on the whole ball python investment "ain't no thing but a chicken wing!"
Good luck!!!!!
