...the parents you have are ultramels. Jeff told me there were normals in the brood so they can't be ultras. If the sire had been ultra, when bred to a lavender het for amel, you wouldn't have gotten any normals.

What you have there is worth more anyway. Ultras have higher breeding value, but less beauty than the ultramels. It would be interesting to discover from where Rich's breeders originated. I say this because your's and mine have that overall gold coloration without being het for caramel. I've seen others that do not have that gold "overtone".
